Why the hours are worth recording
- Grant reports. Applications and reports often ask how many volunteers you have and how many hours they gave, and some funders accept volunteer time toward a match or in-kind contribution. Each funder sets whether and how volunteer hours count, so check the grant terms; a signed log is what lets you back the number up. See food pantry grants.
- Supervisor initials on every row are what make a paper log credible later.
- Hours = time out minus time in. The in-browser log works this out for you; a shift that runs past midnight is counted into the next day.

When the clipboard stops being enough
